Demonstration Mowhawk passed with flying colors!

Last week the Mowhawk, Datacadabra's newest innovation, had its first demonstration. Under the watchful eye of representatives of the Province of Overijssel and Jelle Bijlsma, who collaborates with us on product development, the Mowhawk passed the demonstration with flying colors.

Mowhawk

The Mowhawk is a computer vision & tracking application for on roadside mowers. A camera system is installed on the cutter bar of a machine. This then instructs the driver to mow in a nature-friendly manner and obtains insight into the state of biodiversity and quality of the grass clippings. Based on the data obtained, the next step for processing the grass clippings can be determined. In short, nature-inclusive roadside management is made possible through the Mowhawk.

The demonstration

During the demonstration, colleagues from Datacadabra took the Mowhawk outside, showing how it works. Then the data obtained, including advanced GPS coordinates, was sent to the cloud via a 4G connection. Inside, the data was retrieved, allowing the mowed areas and roadsides to be displayed. This was presented to the attendees.

Further development

The demonstration passed with flying colors: the prototype stands! Now the colleagues at Datacadabra are fully engaged in further development, to make the Mowhawk a full-fledged product. The models are being trained and tested multiple times to make the product smarter. They are also working hard to develop an online dashboard to make the data insightful and useful to the county.
